The Ambassador of India in Colombia, Prabhat Kumar, presented his credentials to the President of Colombia

In official ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, Casa de Nariño, the President Juan Manuel Santos, along with the Chancellor María Ángela Holguín, received the credentials of the new Ambassador of India in Colombia, Prabhat Kumar.

Prabhat Kumar was confirmed as Ambassador of India in Colombia on April 7th of 2014, is a career diplomatic and he came performing as Deputy Secretary in Charge of the Energy Security Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India. During the same period he headed the Division of Investment and Technology of his country.

Ambassador has been linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India since 1991, has performed duties at the Permanent Mission of India in the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, he also has been Counselor and First Secretary in charge of the political branch of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Kathmandu. He was part of the mission of the Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia.

Proexport y Mincomercio promocionarán en India la inversión hacia Colombia

En la semana del 11 al 15 de febrero, el Viceministro de Desarrollo Empresarial de Colombia, Carlos Andrés De Hart, visitó las ciudades de Delhi y Mumbai, en India, con el objetivo de promover la inversión hacia el país. Durante su estadía, se reunió con su homólogo, Jytiraditya Scindia, con quien discutirá aspectos de interés para los dos países en sectores como tecnologías de la información, ferroníquel, energía, café y agroindustria. Asimismo, se reunió con empresarios de diversos sectores, participará en Nasscom (National Association of Software and Services Companies), una de las ferias más importantes de tecnologías de información y, en conjunto con Proexport, realizaron una agenda de promoción de inversión.

Minister of Mines of India visited Colombia

The Minister of Mines in India Dinsho J. Patel visited Colombia from 1 to May 4, accompanied by a delegation of seven members, including representatives from NationalMineral Development 
 Cooperation, Hindustan Copper Limited., Geological Survey of India & MECL.

On May 2, the Minister met with the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure García María Constanza Botero Colombia. On May 3, visited the National Business Association ANDIand met with its Secretary General, Angel Santiago. Later, the delegation went toIngeominas. In the afternoon the Minister Patel met with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Sergio Diaz-Granados, and later met with and the Vice President of Colombia, Angelino Garzón, Minister Patel told the vice president’s deepest condolences to India bycasualties suffered because of the rainy season in Colombia, which responded by thankingGarzón donating $ 1 million made by India to Colombia to help overcome the losses caused by the disaster.

At night, the Embassy of India hosted a meeting with the Minister, attended by members ofthe Indian community, the Colombian government, media and members of the Chamber of Commerce Colombia India. On May 4, Minister Patel met with the Minister of Mines and Energy of Colombia, Carlos Noriega Filmed and signed the Memorandum of Understanding Geology and Mineral Resources. At all meetings the Minister Patel sent a message of peace to the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of the Colombian dignitaries.
